Dear Hawk Families,
Welcome to the 2026–2027 school year at Hanover High School! We hope this message finds you well, rested, and eagerly anticipating the exciting school year ahead.
We are ready and looking forward to welcoming the Class of 2030 to Hanover High School! We are thrilled to have you join our ranks and cannot wait to see the incredible things you will achieve over the next four years. Please be sure to mark your calendars for our upcoming orientation and open house on Tuesday, August 18, 2026.
We also want to extend a very warm welcome to all of the new families joining us this year through the boundary adjustment. We are so excited to expand our Hawk family and we are eager to see what the future holds as we grow together!
As we welcome our newest Hawks, we also bid a fond farewell to the outstanding Class of
2026. Your legacy of leadership and spirit at Hanover High will always be remembered. We
hope you will return to the nest and join us for our Homecoming game on Friday, September 25, 2026, as we face off against the Atlee Raiders!
This year, we have an extra-special reason to celebrate. Thanks to the relentless hard work of our students, the unwavering support of our families, and the dedication of our staff, Hanover High School earned Distinguished Status by the Virginia Department of Education (VDOE)!
This recognition is a testament to our school's commitment to academic excellence, growth, and student success. While we have always known how special our Hawk community is, it is
incredibly rewarding to see our collective efforts recognized at the state level.
While earning VDOE Distinguished Status is a crowning achievement, it is just one reflection of our students' profound dedication. Last year, our Hawks once again soared beyond state and national averages in both IB and AP testing. We eagerly anticipate building upon this legacy of academic rigor, resilience, and curiosity in the coming months.
Our teachers, administrators, and support staff have been busy all summer preparing for the
upcoming year, and their expertise and enthusiasm will undoubtedly guide our students to even greater heights.
Your involvement and support play a crucial role in creating a nurturing, safe, and vibrant
environment for our students. We encourage you to partner with us by signing up to volunteer, joining the PTSA, or getting involved with our booster organizations. Together, we can make this school year an incredibly rewarding and memorable one.
We are honored to embark on this journey with you, and we look forward to celebrating the
accomplishments of our students and the strength of our community.
